cruise boat with 31 people overturned in the Bargi River in Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday (April 30). Four people died in the tragic incident, while search operations are continuing to find the missing people. 15 people have been rescued so far as the operation is underway for 12 others. The cruise boat tilted and sank after being caught in a sudden and violent gust of wind this evening, claiming the lives of four people. Notably, the cruise service is operated by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Corporation (MPT).

Emergency teams swiftly reached the scene and rescued 15 people from the river, while four bodies have been recovered so far. Search and rescue efforts are still in progress as several passengers remain missing. Officials suspect that sudden weather changes and powerful winds were key factors in the tragedy. Rescue divers and local authorities are continuing intensive operations to trace the missing, while survivors have been taken for medical treatment. Jabalpur District Collector Raghavendra Singh has departed for Bargi Dam to get a briefing on the incident.
