An Air India Express flight with 160 passengers on board, en route from Jeddah to Kozhikode, was forced to make an emergency landing at Cochin International Airport on Thursday after encountering landing gear
and tyre-related issues.According to Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) said it successfully facilitated the safe emergency landing of Air India Express flight IX 398 from Jeddah to Kozhikode, which was diverted to Kochi following a technical issue involving the right main landing gear and a tyre failure.Citing the CIAL statement, the aircraft landed safely at 9:07 am under full emergency conditions. A spokesperson of the CIAL said that no injuries were reported, adding that all emergency services were activated in advance. "Post-landing inspection confirmed that both right-side tyres had burst," a CIAL spokesperson said in the statement.

Dense fog disrupted flight operations at India’s busiest airport on Monday, forcing airlines to cancel 228 flights and divert five others as low visibility affected air traffic across northern India. Of the cancelled flights, 131 were departures and 97 arrivals at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The disruptions continued through the day as visibility levels dropped below operational limits, airport officials said, reports PTI.Five flights were diverted to nearby airports due to the fog. However, most airlines did not disclose the number of cancellations or delays, with Air India being the only carrier to provide specific figures publicly.Air India said it cancelled about 40 flights, both arrivals and departures, citing safety concerns. “Poor visibility due to dense fog in Delhi this morning has impacted flight operations for all airlines. We are closely monitoring conditions and will resume operations as soon as it is safe to do so,” the airline said in a post on X.
