Former Union Minister RK Singh, a senior politician from Bihar, resigned from the BJP after he was suspended for anti-party activities. The development comes a day after the Bihar Election Result in which
the ruling NDA on Friday secured a landslide in the Bihar Assembly, winning 202 seats in the 243-member House, as results for all the constituencies were declared by the Election Commission. The BJP emerged as the largest party, winning 89 seats. Its ally, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led JD(U), won 85 seats.RK Singh, who held Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy portfolio earlier, resigned hours after he was issued a notice by Bihar BJP's state headquarters in-charge Arvind Sharma this morning. The BJP had asked him to submit a reply within one week.He is among three leaders who have been suspended for anti-party activities. The other two facing party action are Legislative Council member Ashok Agarwal and Katihar Mayor Usha Agarwal."You are indulging in anti-party activities. This falls within the scope of discipline. The party has taken this seriously. This has caused harm to the party. Therefore, as directed, you are being suspended from the party and asked to explain why you should not be expelled from the party. Therefore, please clarify your position within a week of receiving this letter," the show-cause notice sent to Singh and the Agarwals read.A former MP from Arrah in Bihar, Singh had been critical of the NDA leadership in his state and the credibility of some allies' candidates.
