Jammu: Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan chaired a high‑level security review meeting in Jammu on Wednesday and assessed preparations for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations. He took stock of ongoing
anti‑terror operations, particularly in areas witnessing increased terror activity and drone incursions along the borders.The high-level meeting was attended by the Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, BSF Director General Praveen Kumar, CRPF chief GP Singh, and Jammu and Kashmir DGP Nalin Prabhat, as well as senior military, police, civil, and intelligence officers.

Sources said the Union Home Secretary might visit the border area where the on-ground commanders will give a brief to him about the current situation at the border.The Home Secretary stressed the need for strong coordination among all security agencies to ensure effective counter-terror operations and maintain overall security in the region.

Sources said intelligence inputs indicate that terrorists are attempting to exploit dense fog conditions to facilitate infiltration.Accompanied by a central team of officers, Mohan reached Jammu in the afternoon on a two-day visit and straightaway headed for the convention centre to chair the high-level meeting, officials said.
