New Delhi: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday said he feels that government's responsibility is to listen to the voice of the Opposition and then respond, so most of the time he listens, even in the business advisory committee, he listens but prefers those MPs who don't disturb the process in the House.Speaking exclusively to Times Now Group Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar during the India Economic Conclave (IEC) 2025, when asked which quality does the Union Minister think he needs the most as Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Kiren Rijiju said, "See, first of all, I feel genuinely that government's responsibility is to listen to the voice of the opposition and then respond, so most of the time I listen. In the Business
Advisory Committee meeting also I listen.”“Opposition, they keep on talking from, you know, side to side, they keep talking and I listen. After all, we have to give decision at the end of the day. I prefer those MPs who don't really, you know, disturb the process of the House,” Kiren Rijiju said.

Why Rahul Gandhi Was Not Allowed to Meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, Union Minister Responds
When asked to respond on Rahul Gandhi’s allegation that he was not allowed to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kiren Rijiju said, "this is not the time to speak on this... how serious was he in meeting or not, this is a different issue. In the case of visiting dignitaries, there is a courtesy which is that you listen to their request, they (visiting dignitaries) place their request that they want to see such personalities around during the visit, so you have to accommodate after consultation."Responding to when asked whether his life becomes simpler when Rahul Gandhi is abroad or more difficult because then they have to deal with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who is giving good speeches in the Parliament, Rijiju said that he treats everybody as simple member of Parliament and for him nobody is special.
