New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on June 21 reappointed Tushar Mehta as Solicitor General of India. Mehta got three-year extension with effect from July 1. or until further orders, whichever is earlier.Mehta will now continue as the Centre's second-highest law officer and is set to complete eleven years as Solicitor General by the end of the fresh tenure. He assumed the office in 2018. Mehta had already completed eight years as the Solicitor General this year, making him one of the longest-serving Solicitor General in India’s history.Meanwhile, the ACC also approved the re-appointment of five Additional Solicitors General appearing before the Supreme Court of India for a further term of three years:These Five ASG's
