Gandhinagar: Continuing its winning streak, the Gujarat tableau won the Popular Choice Category for the fourth consecutive time for its presentation at the 77th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, New Delhi.The tableau was formally awarded the trophy and certificate by the Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, at the award ceremony held today at the Rashtriya Rang Shala Shibir in New Delhi.Dr Vikrant Pandey, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Kishor Bachani, Commissioner of Information, accepted the award and certificate on behalf of the Government of Gujarat.Additionally, Gujarat’s cultural performance earned special recognition at the cultural dance competition at the Rashtriya Rang Shala, featuring artists
from various states during the tableau creation process.This year’s tableau, themed ‘Swatantrata ka Mantra: Vande Mataram’, was created by the Information Commissioner's Office, Government of Gujarat.The project was carried out under the guidance of Kishor Bachani, Commissioner of Information, and Arvind Patel, Additional Director of Information, and shaped up by Dr Sanjay Kachot, Joint Director of Information, and Bhavna Vasava, Deputy Director of Information, Film Production Branch.Gujarat continued its tradition of excellence in tableau presentation. The streak began with the ‘Clean Green Energy-rich Gujarat’ tableau in 2023, which won the Popular Choice award for promoting renewable energy.Following this, the ‘Dhordo, World’s Best Tourism Village’ tableau in 2024 again won the Popular Choice award and earned second place in the Jury’s Choice category, recognised by the selection committee for its outstanding presentation.In 2025, the tableau ‘From Anartpur to Ektanagar - A Stunning Confluence of Heritage and Development’, which showed Gujarat’s journey of modern development along with its rich ancient heritage under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, won the Popular Choice Award.In 2026, Gujarat made history by winning this national award in the same category for the fourth consecutive year.
