Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday, called on lawmakers to undertake reforms across sectors while ensuring they serve the people and make their lives easy. The remarks come amid the ongoing IndiGo crisis. The airline has been facing a major operational crisis since last week, cancelling hundreds of flights daily. Passengers at major airports, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, have been dealing with long delays and high airfares. "I would like to specifically mention one point. The Prime Minister has laid great emphasis on reforms to improve people's lives. Reforms don't just mean economic reforms or financial reforms. He meant reforms to make the lives of ordinary people in the country
easier and more comfortable. Reforms in every sector. So, he has given us very good guidelines," Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju told reporters while recounting PM's words at the NDA meeting.
PM Modi Felicitated by NDA MPs
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was felicitated at the NDA MPs meeting on Tuesday for the coalition's massive victory in the recent Bihar elections. PM Modi was garlanded by JD(U) leader Sanjay Jha and Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha -- both Rajya Sabha members. In the 243-member Bihar Assembly, which went to polls last month, the NDA secured 202 seats, paving the way for JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar to return as chief minister for the 10th time.On Monday, a delegation of NDA leaders from Bihar had called on PM Modi and congratulated him for the alliance's landslide victory in the state polls.Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and J P Nadda, who is also the BJP president, were among those present at the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting held at the Parliament House complex in the national capital.
IndiGo's Flight Schedule Cut by 5% Amid Nationwide Crisis
Aviation safety regulator DGCA on Tuesday said it has reduced IndiGo's flight schedule by 5 per cent, following large-scale flight disruptions since December 1, 2025. The order to this effect was issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday. This comes a day after Union Cvil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said that the government will curtail IndiGo's routes in the winter season. The flights have been cut across sectors, particularly on high-demand, high-frequency routes, according to the statement.IndiGo has also been directed to submit a revised schedule to the DGCA by 5 pm, Wednesday, it added. As part of the Winter schedule for 2025-26, the airline has been operating over 2,200 flights per day.
