Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone conversation on Wednesday, reviewing the growing momentum in the India-Israel strategic partnership and aligning positions on key regional challenges. The two leaders reiterated their zero-tolerance stance on terrorism during the conversation and also discussed the evolving situation in West Asia. PM Modi and Israeli PM Netanyahu underscored the need for a just and durable peace, including the early implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan.
Netanyahu Dials PM Modi
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi received a telephone call from Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen the India-Israel Strategic Partnership. PM Modi reaffirmed India’s support for efforts towards a just and durable peace in the region during his conversation with Netanyahu, according to an official statement."Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received a telephone call from the Prime Minister of Israel, H.E. Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu today. Both leaders expressed satisfaction at the continued momentum in India-Israel Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening these ties for mutual benefit," an official statement read. "The two leaders strongly condemned terrorism and reiterated their zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. They also exchanged views on the situation in West Asia. PM Modi reaffirmed India’s support for efforts towards a just and durable peace in the region, including early implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan. The two leaders agreed to remain in touch," the statement added.
When Israeli PM Paused Key Meet To Speak To PM Modi
The two leaders had last spoken in October this year, when the Israeli Prime Minister paused an ongoing cabinet meeting to take Prime Minister Modi’s call. PM Modi had called the Israeli PM to congratulate him on the implementation of Gaza Peace Plan.

"Called my friend, Prime Minister Netanyahu, to congratulate him on the progress made under President Trump’s Gaza peace plan. We welcome the agreement on the release of hostages and enhanced humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza. Reaffirmed that terrorism in any form or manifestation is unacceptable anywhere in the world," PM Modi had posted on X.PM Modi had also spoken to US President Donald Trump and hailed his efforts to end hostilities in West Asia. This came as the US announced that Israel and Hamas, fighting since two years, have agreed on the first phase of the Gaza peace plan. The first phase includes a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners.
