As the probe into actor-model Twisha Sharma’s suspicious death intensifies, an audio clip purportedly featuring her mother-in-law has gone viral on social media, with the latter allegedly questioned Twisha’s character.Reacting to the viral audio clip allegedly featuring Twisha’s brother, Major Harshit Sharma, and her mother-in-law Giribala Singh, the deceased actor-model’s cousin, Meenakshi Sharma, said the remarks made about Twisha’s character reflected the family’s mindset towards her."In the audio, she can be clearly heard questioning Twisha's character,” Meenakshi Sharma was quoted by news agency ANI, adding that the remarks “shows her depraved mentality.” She further alleged that “even now, she is speaking ill of her daughter-in-law."ALSO

Twisha Sharma, a 33-year-old model and actress, was found dead at her in-laws’ residence in Bhopal on May 12. While the case was initially believed to be a suicide, allegations of dowry harassment as well as physical and mental abuse later surfaced after claims made by her parents.As per the audio clip, Giribala Singh, a former district court judge in Madhya Pradesh, asked Twisha if she “had been with other men" and claimed that actor-model had worked in Reshampura in Gwalior and had also “worked with prostitutes". The audio captures a tense exchange between the two sides of the family, with Major Harshit Sharma accusing his sister’s in-laws of humiliating and emotionally harassing her over her personal life and alleged past relationships.“Promiscuity can become a habit,” Giribala Singh is heard saying in the recording, while justifying concerns allegedly raised within the family over Twisha’s relationships before marriage.“Some sell their brain, some sell their bodies,” the former judge was purportedly heard saying.Twisha Sharma’s has triggered massive concerns over deaths related to dowry harassment in India. Meanwhile, the deceased’s husband, Samarth Singh, surrendered in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur on Friday after absconding for days. A further probe is underway into the matter.
