Kathmandu:
Nepal Airlines on Thursday (April 30) apologised for showing Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan in a 'network map." The airline called it "cartographic inaccuracies." The apology was issued after the airlines faced an outrage for showing the distorted map of India in its social media post, which was deleted later. The apology post further mentioned that the post did not reflect the stance of Nepal or Nepal Airlines."We sincerely apologise for error in the network map recently shared on our social media channels. The map contained significant cartographic inaccuracies regarding international boundaries that do not reflect the official stance of Nepal or Nepal Airlines,'' it posted on X.
The airline also said that the post was immediately removed and an internal review is being conducted to ensure that its materials should met the highest standards of accuracy. 'We deeply value our strong relationships with our neighbours and friends in the region and regret any offense the post has caused,'' the airline added.
Outrage Against Nepal Airlines:Bhojpuri superstar Khesari Lal Yadav wrote on X, "Can anyone tell me what made Nepal Airlines tamper with the map of India like this, and that too regarding Jammu and Kashmir? This is not a trivial matter, it seems to have been done deliberately. This is called teasing."
An X user named Divya Tandon wrote, "India has kept Nepal's economy alive for decades. This includes open borders, jobs for millions of Nepalis, facilitating trade through Indian ports, fuel pipelines, power projects, disaster relief, infrastructure, scholarships, and even military cooperation."This is how Nepal Airlines responds: A flight network map showing the entire Jammu and Kashmir region bordering Pakistan. This isn't a design choice. It's a political statement," she further wrote.

The Government of India should immediately take cognizance of this and take swift action on it," he further added.
