Railways fare hike: Train travel across India hasbecome slightly costlier from today, with Indian Railways implementing a revised fare structure, the second such hike in less than six months. The Ministry of Railways has clarified that the revised fares will apply only to tickets issued on or after December 26, 2025. Passengers who booked tickets before this date will not have to pay any additional amount, even if their journey is scheduled later.
Train Fare Increase: How Much More You’ll Pay - Explained
Under the revised fares, non-AC passengers travelling up to 500 km will pay an additional Rs 10. Fares for Mail and Express trains in non-AC classes have been increased by 2 paise per km, while AC class fares have also gone up by 2 paise per km.
