Srinagar: At least one terrorist was neutralised on Tuesday night by security forces during a cordon and search operation in the Arahama area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal. Operation Arahama was launched jointly by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police upon receiving intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.The security forces noticed a suspicious movement during the search and cordon operation. The encounter broke after the terrorists opened fire on the troops. The security personnel also gave a befitting reply, resulting in the death of one terrorist.What Indian Army’s Chinar Corps Said:“OP ARAHAMA, Ganderbal. Based on specific intelligence input, joint search operation was launched by #IndianArmy and @JmuKmrPolice
in Gen area Arahama of Ganderbal, the Chinar Corps said in an X post.“During the search, vigilant troops observed suspicious activity. On being challenged, terrorists opened fire and own troops retaliated,” it added. Operation Araahama is currently underway.
