Vinayagam trails behind with 1520 votes, followed by Independent leader K Sethu with 1415 votes. Puducherry is currently being led under the NDA (National Democratic Alliance), with All India N.R. Congress’ Rangaswamy as the CM. Rangaswamy won a seat from Thattanchavady in 2021, making this election the BJP’s attempt for a second consecutive win.Congress’ Vaithilingam, on the other hand, is another key candidate who served as the 11th and the 16th CM of Puducherry. All in all, the Thattanchavady seat is straight up a ‘battle of two Chief Ministers’.Reportedly, the first round of vote counting for Puducherry will be held for 17 Assembly constituencies, where Thattanchavady is one of these constituencies.
