today, Monday, May 04, whereas Thattanchavady is one of the 30 constituencies for which the voting was held on April 09.Thattanchavady : Battle of CMs!Thattanchavady is the most high-profile seat in Puducherry, mostly because of the two major contestants: sitting CM N Rangaswamy and former CM V Vaithilingam. Puducherry is currently being led under the NDA (National Democratic Alliance), with All India N.R. Congress’ Rangaswamy as the CM. Rangaswamy won a seat from Thattanchavady in 2021, making this election the BJP’s attempt for a second consecutive win.Congress’ Vaithilingam, on the other hand, is another key candidate who served as the 11th and the 16th CM of Puducherry. All in all, the Thattanchavady seat is straight up a ‘battle of two Chief Ministers’.Reportedly, the first round of vote counting for Puducherry will be held for 17 Assembly constituencies, where Thattanchavady is one of these constituencies. Along with Thattanchavady– Mannadipet, Ossudu, Villianur, Kadirgamam, Lawspet, Muthialpet, Ouppalam, Nellithope, Ariankuppam, Emblem, and Nettapakkam– are the rest of the constituencies for which the counting will be held in the first round.
