Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday vowed that those behind the Delhi car blast will face the harshest punishment, emphasising that the verdict in the case will “send a message to the world” that no
one should ever dare to carry out such an attack in India again.Speaking via video conference at the inauguration of the Moti Bhai Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School in Gujarat, Shah also extended his condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the explosion outside Delhi’s Red Fort earlier this week.“The punishment given to the perpetrators of the Delhi terror attack will send a message to the world that no one should ever dare to even think of such an attack in our country," Shah said.“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve to ensure strict punishment for all those responsible for the terrorist incident will definitely be fulfilled," he added. The Union Home Minister’s remarks came a day after the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi following his return from Bhutan, adopted a resolution condemning the Delhi blast. The Centre has officially termed the November 10 Red Fort explosion a “terrorist act” and instructed investigative agencies to handle the case with “utmost urgency and professionalism” to ensure swift justice. In a statement, the government said, "The country has witnessed a heinous terror incident, perpetrated by anti-national forces, through a car explosion near the Red Fort. The explosion resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries." The government called it a "dastardly and cowardly act" that claimed innocent lives.
