Boudh: Launching a renewed offensive against left-wing extremism, the Odisha Police has announced a total cash reward of Rs 8.40 crore for information leading to the arrest of 18 wanted Maoists, an official
said on Saturday.As part of this campaign, police have put up posters in the interior areas of Boudh district, urging local residents to assist security forces. The highest reward of Rs 1.20 crore has been announced for Ganesh Uike, a central committee member of the Maoist organisation. Rewards of Rs 65 lakh each have been announced for Special Regional Committee members Sudarshan alias Bikash, Niranjan Raut alias Nikhil, Rashmita Lenka alias Ankita, Krishna alias Sukru, and Neetu.

Additionally, cash rewards of Rs 37.5 lakh each have been announced for two military platoon commanders, while rewards of Rs 32 lakh each have been announced for 10 divisional committee members.The police have assured the public that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
