Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday alleged that unofficial President's rule has been imposed in West Bengal ahead of the Assembly elections in the state
because BJP knows it will be defeated, PTI reported on Friday. Mamata Banerjee, who released Trinamool Congress (TMC) manifesto for the upcoming polls, said that the Centre and EC are planning delimitation of constituencies to help BJP win the next Lok Sabha elections. She also alleged that the Centre is planning to take away citizenship of people in name of National Register of Citizens (NRC), Census after Bengal elections.
Addressing a presser while releasing TMC's manifesto for Bengal polls, Mamata Banerjee said, "...We see a lot of conspiracies during elections, but this time they've crossed all limits. After this election, there will be delimitation, but the Modi government won't come back to power because people don't like the BJP government. The reasons are NRC and delimitation..."
"Those posted here as observers don't know the area or the state, they don't know anything about the state. How can they perform their duties? President's rule has been replaced by undeclared President's rule. Modiji, you're fighting here under undeclared President's rule because they're jealous of Bengal. They've derailed the entire system," she said.
Speaking further, the Chief Minister said, "I appeal to the people of Bengal to unite and fight against the BJP to save Bengal. If central agencies are trying to intimidate you, don't be. If they're trying to give you money, don't take it. They bring money and weapons, mafia from the border areas, trying to create unrest and riots here. I'm not playing divisive politics. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians are all the same."
Meanwhile, releasing party's manifesto for the forthcoming polls, Mamata Banerjee said, "Under the 'Lakshmi Bhandar' scheme, women in the general category will receive Rs 1,500 per month, and SC/STs Rs 1,700 per month."
"Youth who are unemployed will receive Rs 1,500 per month as pocket money... Bengal is a destination for industry. We are number one in MSME. 1.5 crore employees work under MSME. The leather industry is the largest in Bengal," the Chief Minister said.
