Adopting a dog is all about finding the right match. At Animal Haven, a rescue in New York City, puppies, adults and seniors with unique personalities, energy levels and love to give are all waiting to meet
their perfect person. And while they wait for the day they finally get to go home, Jinx helped make their stay a little brighter by donating a selection of dog foods.
We paired three adoptable dogs with a food that fits their preferences and stage of life. Get to know these special pups and the right diet for their needs:
JASE
Jase is all about living life to the fullest. Though he had a difficult start, this French bulldog puppy is bursting with energy and refuses to let anything slow him down.
Jase was surrendered to a city shelter after an accident in his former home left him paralyzed. He eventually made his way to Animal Haven, where he's receiving the specialized care he needs.
“Jase is currently attending physical therapy sessions,” Kristin Kenney, director of projects and partnerships at Animal Haven, told The Dodo. “This is helping to offset muscle atrophy, reeducate his brain on gait and also provide some therapeutic benefit through heated water. Jase will not regain normal movement, but such therapies can help him feel his best.”
Jase's future family will need to be ready to welcome a sweet, silly pup with a disability. He'll need plenty of enrichment to keep his curious mind busy, but he'll repay them with endless love and loyalty. “He loves everyone and loves food,” Kenney said. “He's very much still a puppy and learning to navigate the world with a disability, but he's so resilient and curious.”
While he waits to be fitted for his wheelchair, Jase is eating the Jinx Puppy Dog Food. Made with cage-free chicken, vegetables, fruit and brown rice, plus omega-3 and -6 fatty acids to support healthy skin and coat and probiotics to aid digestion, it's helping keep this growing pup healthy and ready for whatever adventure comes next.

ALABASTER SNOWBALL
At just 2 years old, Alabaster Snowball is an energetic dog with a big heart. But while many pups thrive in New York City, the constant hustle and bustle of Manhattan can feel overwhelming for him.
Though he struggles with anxiety, Alabaster is incredibly loving and eager to connect with the people around him.
“Alabaster is extremely sweet and gets along well with both dogs and people,” Kenney said. “He's a curious pup and eager to learn.”
Animal Haven says Alabaster is looking for the structure and reassurance he may have missed as a puppy. Every day, he's building confidence by practicing coping skills — learning how to stay calm in unfamiliar situations.
On tougher days, though, his anxiety can get in the way of his eating. That's when Jinx Bone Broth Sauce over his kibble gives him the extra encouragement he needs to continue growing into the confident dog he's meant to be.

DARIA
You'd never guess from the smile that's always on her face that Daria has spent the past three years waiting at Animal Haven for the family she's always deserved.
Rescued from an overcrowded shelter in Louisiana, the 5-year-old "pocket pibble" loves chasing tennis balls, meeting new people and exploring new places. She's become a favorite among the rescue's staff and volunteers, all of whom are rooting for her happily-ever-after.
“Daria is incredibly resilient,” Kenney said. “Usually, when dogs are at the shelter this long, we see behavioral deterioration or other signs of stress.”
“She's adaptable and so sweet with new people,” Kenney added. “She can be a little independent at the shelter, but in her foster situations, she was quite snuggly!”
So why is Daria still waiting? Her barrier frustration has been her biggest obstacle to overcome.
“When Daria sees another dog that she can't get to, she tends to show off some big feelings: barking, spinning and fixation," Kenney noted. But that behavior doesn't tell the whole story. “At the shelter, Daria has been intro'd to dozens of dogs of all sizes and ages and is a friendly (but exuberant) gal,” Kenney added. “She loves to play, chase and be chased! I recently took her hiking with my dog (who's also selective/reactive) and we saw some dogs from afar without any reaction!”
With all that enthusiasm, Daria needs a food that can keep up with her. She's enjoying Jinx All Life Stages Grain-Free Dog Food, which is filled with protein, superfoods and omega-3 and -6 fatty acids to help fuel her unshakable spirit.
