When Bill Hader and Quinta Brunson decided to go on a Dodo Dream Date in honor of their new movie, “The Cat in the Hat,” they were excited to meet some adoptable kitties. The kittens, Perrier and Lacroix, were active and curious right off the bat, and the actors
could tell it was going to be a fun date.
To kick off the date, Bill and Quinta answered questions about “The Cat in the Hat” while giving treats and toys to their adorable dates. Bill spoke about returning to animation to voice the famous feline character and what that means to him.
“This is such a huge character that I grew up with,” Bill told The Dodo.
Quinta talked about reading Dr. Seuss books growing up and about her love for shelter animals like Perrier and Lacroix. Then the two actors teamed up to see how many different voices they could do in 30 seconds.
The kittens played hard to get for a lot of the date, running around and doing their own thing. At one point, Lacroix used Bill as a ramp, climbing up him and jumping down behind him in an attempt to escape.
“See, she’s liking me,” Bill said.
The kittens seemed inspired by the “The Cat in the Hat” theme and wanted to make a little mischief. Perrier made her own escape attempt shortly after Lacroix’s, but eventually both kittens calmed down a little.
Towards the end of the date, Perrier came over to snuggle with Quinta on the couch, and Quinta fed her a treat to keep her happy. The actors made little gift baskets for the kittens to take with them to their forever families and then wished the kittens well on their adoption journey.
Shortly after the date, both kittens were adopted through Wallis Annenberg PetSpace.
