As Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy waited for their Dodo Dream Date to arrive, they made a few predictions about how it would go.
“I think she’s gonna probably be more into me than she is into you,” Andrew said in a video for The Dodo.
When 5-month-old Birdie
finally burst into the room, both actors began trying their best to win her over. To help with that, the trio began playing a mystery jar game. Some of the jars held conversation starters, and many held treats.
Andrew and Claire tried to answer some of the questions the jars held, but found it hard with Birdie there being her adorable self.
“It’s very hard to have a conversation with a dog in the room ‘cause it’s like having a baby,” Claire said in a video for The Dodo. “You just wanna look at them.”
One card mentioned how Birdie would love to supervise her future parents while they work from home, so Claire chatted about her own dog, Poppy, and how she balances her busy life.
One of the jars had a ball inside, and while Claire tried to continue answering questions, Andrew and Birdie became engrossed in playing together. The actors learned that Birdie had already mastered the commands “sit” and “down,” and that led them to talking about their own hidden talents. Andrew can juggle, and Claire claimed she didn’t really have any.
“If I had one, why would I keep it to myself?” Claire said.
The pair also chatted about their upcoming movie, “The Magic Faraway Tree,” which they star in together.
As they wrapped the date, Andrew and Claire were sad to say goodbye and hoped Birdie would find the best forever home.
