Singer and actress Rita Ora couldn’t have been more thrilled ahead of her Dodo Dream Date with a little dog named Dove.
“I’m so excited to meet her,” Rita said.
And the feeling was mutual.
Walking into the room, little Dove headed straight for Rita’s lap
before settling in for a snuggle. The rescue pup was pulled from California's Kern County animal shelter and has spent the past five months waiting for a family of her own, making every cuddle with Rita seem that much sweeter.
“She's just so warm and cuddly,” Rita said. “Girl, you're the cutest.”
Rita brought along a bouquet of plush roses just for Dove, as well as several mystery jars filled with treats and questions to get to know one another better.
With Dove settled in, Rita opened up the first mystery jar, leading to what would be the first of many tasty treats. Rita was also asked about some of her favorite songs of late, one of which was "Choosin' Texas" by Ella Langley.
“As an English person, it's the most American song I've ever heard,” Rita said.
As Dove stayed curled up in her arms, Rita chatted about playing the Queen of Hearts in "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland.”
“Everything is elevated. The outfits, the music, the shebang — you're not going to want to miss it,” Rita said, adding of Dove: “She's so happy to be here, and I'm just so happy you are here.”
A few more treats and get-to-know-you questions later, Rita was asked about dream projects going forward.
“I want to do many more movies. [And] put out my new record, which I may or may not have finished, but that's all I'm going to say on that,” she said.
Rita didn’t hold back on one last surprise for Dove, however. As their date wound to a close, she gifted the pup a basket full of toys to take along with her when she finds her forever home.
It even included a plush crown, fit for a queen like Dove.
Rita, who's a dog mom to her own rescue pup named Honey, knows the importance of making dogs like Dove feel loved.
Hopefully, it won't be long before Dove finds the family she's been waiting for. After spending time with her, Rita has no doubt someone will cherish the sweet little pup.
"I feel like she just is a chill queen like me,” Rita said.
