It was Tara and her husband-to-be’s big day — but shortly after saying “I do,” the bride put everything on hold for one very sweet reason.
To save a tiny life.
After the ceremony, as the newlyweds and their guests celebrated the occasion, a faint chirping
sound reached the ears of Tara and her friend, Becca Perry. They recognized it as a bird in distress.
“[We] didn’t know where it was coming from,” Perry told The Dodo.
But instead of ignoring the chirping amid the music and celebration, Tara was determined to find its source.
“We located the bird and realized it fell from its nest,” Perry said. “So Tara asked me to fetch a cup so she could save it. After I brought it to her, she rescued the baby bird.”
As the wedding guests looked on, Tara then gently returned the baby bird to his nest behind an outdoor speaker:
On a day meant to celebrate the start of her own new chapter, Tara made sure a tiny life got the second chance he needed.
“She’s wonderful,” Perry said.
