Maureen A. Culleeney, a dedicated educator and lifelong learner, passed away peacefully at her home in Elk Grove Village on August 13, 2025. Born on January 17, 1954, in Berwyn, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Robert P. and Marlene Culleeney. Maureen was a professor at Lewis University, where she shared her passion for learning with generations of students. Her commitment to education was matched by her devotion to her family and friends. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Culleeney, and many beloved friends and neighbors. A visitation will be held on August 22, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on August 23 at Holy Archangels Parish in Hoffman Estates. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society.
