What's Happening?
The Herds project features life-sized puppet animals traveling from the Congo Basin to the Arctic Circle to raise awareness about climate change. Created by David Lan and Amir Nizar Zuabi, the project follows their previous success with The Walk with Little Amal. The puppets, designed by the Ukwanda Puppet Collective, symbolize the animals' response to environmental disasters. The project aims to engage audiences globally, highlighting the urgent need for climate action.
Why It's Important?
The Herds project uses creative storytelling to address the pressing issue of climate change, engaging audiences through visual art and performance. By depicting animals as the first to sense environmental changes, the project emphasizes the interconnectedness of ecosystems and the impact of human activities on wildlife. It serves as a call to action for individuals and communities to recognize the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable practices.
