What's Happening?
Skechers is sponsoring the Paws for a Cause Design Scholarship for the third consecutive year, aimed at rewarding college students and supporting pets in need through its BOBS movement. Two winners will receive a $10,000 scholarship and mentorship sessions, with their designs featured in the 2026 BOBS from Skechers collection. The initiative has donated over $13 million since 2015, aiding more than 2.3 million shelter animals. The contest is open to U.S. college design students, requiring a cat- or dog-themed print and an essay on the importance of the BOBS mission. The application deadline is September 30, 2025.
Why It's Important?
The Paws for a Cause Scholarship not only supports aspiring designers but also contributes significantly to animal welfare. By integrating philanthropy with education, Skechers fosters creativity while promoting social responsibility. This initiative enhances the company's brand image and aligns with consumer values, particularly among younger demographics who prioritize ethical and sustainable practices. The scholarship also highlights the role of corporate social responsibility in business strategy, potentially influencing other companies to adopt similar programs.
