Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Molly Gordon were more than ready for their Dodo Dream Date with Kansas, a lovable rescue pup looking for her forever home.
“We’re so ready,” Molly said. “Can’t wait,” added Julia.
Kansas, who was rescued by Paws Crossed Animal Rescue
in New York, was a little timid at first, greeting her dates with a few friendly sniffs — but she was soon given plenty of reasons to smile.Julia and Molly, who both have dogs of their own, came prepared with a fun game of Dream Date Plinko, leading to prizes of toys, treats and conversation starters for the three to get to know one another better.
Lucky for Kansas, Plinko landed on treats first. And this was the moment Julia and Molly made an interesting discovery about the sweet pup: She
simply had no interest in sitting on command.
“She can, but she chooses not to,” Julia said.
Kansas earned the treat regardless, of course.
A few more treats and toys later, Julia and Molly discussed their upcoming film, “The Sheep Detectives,” in which they play sheep navigating the human world. When asked what advice she'd give to her sheep character in the film, Julia said:
"My advice would be to trust your instincts."
As for Julia and Molly’s advice to a potential adopter on winning over Kansas’ heart?
“Treats,” they agreed.
Before the Dream Date drew to an end, Julia and Molly had one last surprise for Kansas. They gifted her a tote bag filled with toys to take with her when she gets adopted into a forever home. Included among them was a sheep doll.
“Because we’re both in ‘The Sheep Detectives,’” Julia said.
And when it came time to say goodbye, Kansas surprised them in return.
Kansas finally took a seat.
