Vande Bharat sleeper train running status: The first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train has arrived in the country. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi,
flagged off the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train from Malda on 17th January, and the full schedule of this train has also been revealed. The Ministry of Railways has decided to run this special train in order to directly connect eastern India with the Northeast. The Railways have made it clear that the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will be running from 22nd January 2026. The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will run from Kamakhya to Howrah.
Vande Bharat Sleeper to run 6 days a week
The Howrah-Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper Express (27575/27576) will operate six days a week. The train departing from Kamakhya will run on all days except Wednesday, while the train from Howrah will operate on all days except Thursday. This schedule will provide passengers with more travel options and greater convenience.

The timetable of this train has been designed keeping passenger convenience in mind. The train from Howrah to Kamakhya will depart at 6:20 PM and reach Kamakhya at 8:20 AM the next day. Meanwhile, the train from Kamakhya to Howrah will leave at 6:15 PM and arrive in Howrah at 8:15 AM. Covering a distance of nearly 950 kilometres, the train will complete this long journey in just 14 hours.
Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Running Status: Stations where train will stop
The train is going to include stops at the following stations as mentioned by the Ministry of Railways: Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, New Alipurduar, New Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri Road, New Jalpaiguri, Aluabari Road, Malda Town, New Farakka Junction, Azimganj, Katwa Junction, Nabadwip Dham, and Bandel Junction. With the induction of the train, people from West Bengal, the North Bengal region, and Assam would definitely stand to gain heavily, as it would increase trade, tourism, and religious tourism to the region.
Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: Train fare details
The fare for the Howrah-Kamakhya and Kamakhya-Howrah routes is the same. Travelling in 3AC will cost Rs 2,435, in 2AC Rs 3,145, and in 1AC Rs 3,855.
No waiting or RAC, only confirmed tickets
The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will not offer waiting list or RAC tickets. According to the Railway Board, only confirmed tickets will be issued for this train. The minimum fare will be calculated for a distance of 400 kilometres, and there will be no VIP quota. The Railways says this will ensure passengers have fully confirmed berths in advance, making the journey more comfortable.
