French fashion powerhouse Louis Vuitton has unveiled its highly anticipated debut makeup line, marking a significant expansion from luxury accessories
into the booming world of beauty.
Partnering with the legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath, the new range, La Beauté Louis Vuitton, launches globally this month—and it’s already making waves for its exclusivity and price points.
The initial collection comprises 55 lipsticks, 10 lip balms, and eight eyeshadow palettes—a comprehensive offering that cements Louis Vuitton’s serious intent in the beauty business.
Set to hit select stores and online platforms worldwide on August 29, 2025, the line first debuted in China on August 20, which will be followed by a global digital pre-launch on August 25.
Luxury is the order of the day: each lipstick and lip balm is priced at $160 (approximately ₹14,000), while the eyeshadow palettes will cost $250 (about ₹21,000). Refills are priced at $69 (₹6,000) for lips and $92 (₹8,000) for eyes.
The stunning packaging, designed by famed industrial designer Konstantin Grcic, is inspired by Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram and Damier motifs, reinforcing the brand’s opulent identity.
Already revered for its fragrances, Louis Vuitton is a late entrant to the high-end cosmetics arena compared to rivals like Chanel and Gucci. But the maison’s inaugural makeup launch is among the most expensive on the market, setting new benchmarks for luxury beauty. Lipsticks will be available in satin and matte finishes, spanning from classic reds to sophisticated nudes, while the eyeshadow palettes will feature four shades in each compact.

The move is in line with a broader LVMH strategy—recall Dior’s $500 lipstick and Guerlain’s ultra-limited $27,000 scent. Louis Vuitton’s perfume lines, too, start at $350, with the ultra-premium Les Extraits Collection retailing at $670. In this context, the steep beauty pricing signals a bid for the brand’s most elite clientele, further blurring the lines between cosmetic and collectible.
Louis Vuitton’s foray comes at a time when makeup is increasingly viewed not just as self-expression, but as lifestyle and investment. By combining its fashion DNA with expert artistry and top-tier manufacturing, Louis Vuitton’s new launch is poised to redefine luxury beauty—or at least, the price of entry.
As influencers and beauty aficionados worldwide flock to get their hands on La Beauté Louis Vuitton, all eyes are on how the house’s latest bet translates into sales, status, and brand legacy.
