Switzerland is set to host the next Summit on AI at Palexpo in Geneva on 21st & 22nd June 2027.
The summit aims to build on the momentum of the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi and is slated to take place back-to-back with the International Telecommunication Union's (ITU) AI for Good Global Summit.
Speaking at the AI for Good Global Summit 2026 in Geneva on 8th July 2026, Swiss Federal Councillor Albert Rösti further indicated that along with more powerful AI and its wider deployment, work must continue to "ensure that its development remains trustworthy, inclusive and centred on human needs," adding that "responsible innovation and technological progress are not competing objectives," but "they reinforce one another."
The Swiss Embassy in India has said that the summit aims at 2 strategic priorities: "AI as a driver of prosperity and progress for all", and "Fostering trustworthy, responsible, and safe use of AI."
The Embassy added that "Switzerland is determined to strengthen AI governance," and build on the outcomes of the previous Summits in Bletchley, Seoul, Paris, and New Delhi.
Stressing on establishing stable and effective processes for global discussions on AI governance as a key priority, the Embassy said that "Geneva, as a global centre for multilateral dialogue, is the natural home for this work," noting that "Geneva 2027 will bring together governments, international organisations, the private sector, civil society, and researchers in the world’s multilateral capital."
