Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke over the phone today (January 7), discussing democracy and peace in Gaza, among other things.
During the conversation, the leaders warmly exchanged new year greetings and wished the people of both nations peace and prosperity, stated the official release. They also discussed priorities to further strengthen the India-Israel strategic partnership, underpinned by shared democratic values, deep mutual trust, and a forward-looking
vision.
Both leaders reaffirmed their zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism in all its forms and reiterated their commitment to combating the menace globally.
Netanyahu briefed PM Modi on the implementation of the Gaza peace plan. In response, Modi reaffirmed India’s consistent support for efforts aimed at achieving a just and durable peace in the region.
According to the official statement, the discussion also covered regional and global issues of mutual interest, with both leaders agreeing to maintain close contact in the months ahead.
