What is the story about?
US President Donald Trump said the United States will work closely with Iran following what he described as a “very productive regime change,” outlining a potential shift in ties between the two countries.
In a Truth Social post, he claimed that Iran would halt uranium enrichment and cooperate with the US in removing deeply buried nuclear material under strict satellite surveillance, including monitoring by space-based systems.
Trump added that discussions are underway on tariff adjustments and sanctions relief, with several points already agreed upon, indicating movement toward a broader understanding.
Iran has yet to comment on Trump's claim.
The post came hours after Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire provided that Iran reopens the Strait of Hormuz.
He said, "The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East. We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate."
