New Yorkers seek answers from mayor Zohran Mamdani over mother Mira Nair’s mention in Epstein files

New Yorkers who voted Zohran Mamdani as the city's mayor gathered outside Gracie Mansion on Sunday, February 1, demanding answers over his family's connection to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. 

Mamdani's mother, filmmaker Mira Nair, was mentioned in the latest Eptsein files released on Friday, January 31. The US Department of Justice had released three million pages, 180,000 images, and 2,000 videos. 

In videos posted on X, protesters were seen accusing Mamdani of lying to them. "We advocated for

you, we voted for you...you ain't do nothing but get up there and lie to us," a protester said, as others joined in shouting "shame".
