According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake struck the coast of Oregon at 3:25 am (local time).
The epicentre of the earthquake was found to be 295 km west of Oregon's Bandon, and the depth was located around 10 km below the earth's surface, as per USGS.
A tsunami warning has not been issued so far. Any damage or destruction to property or life were not immediately reported.
