Iraq reopens airspace, prepares to resume international flight operations

The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority has announced the reopening of Iraqi airspace to air traffic with immediate effect, citing the stabilisation of the situation and a return to normal conditions. In a statement, the authority said the decision allows for the resumption of civilian flight operations, including both incoming and outgoing services.

It added that the facility is fully prepared to restart operations, with all necessary systems in place to handle air traffic as flights begin to resume.

The authority further said technical and logistical arrangements are currently underway to restore scheduled services to international destinations. These steps are being carried out in coordination with relevant aviation authorities to ensure a smooth and phased resumption of operations.
