What is the story about?
A one-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped and strangled to death in Haryana's Panchkula by a man, who identified as the father of the boy, according to a TOI
report. The accused, identified as Ajay, is a resident of Pinjore. The body of the boy was found in bushes near Sukhomajri village in Haryana's Panchkula on late Saturday night (January 24). The police said that Ajay has been arrested, while the boy's mother is also being questioned over her possible involvement in the brutal crime.
Here's What Happened
According to initial investigations, the boy's mother and Ajay met on Instagram recently and had been meeting for some time. This raised concerns and suspicions over the possible involvement of the mother in killing the child.
The accused allegedly took the boy from the creche in Sector 12, posing as the child's father, TOI reported. Following that, the boy went missing.
The police have now registered a case against the accused under the relevant sections of the BNS. Moreover, they are also examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the movements of the accused.
The forensic and crime teams are currently probing the crime and collecting evidence. The child's body has been sent for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.

Father Frequently Tortured Class 4 Boy in Tamil Nadu
In another shocking incident, where parents and authorities are being questioned, a 43-year-old father branded his 10-year-old son's body with a hot knife because the latter refused to go to school. The incident occurred in Gudiyatham taluk of Kolimedu village in Vellore district, Tamil Nadu, earlier this week.
The accused had also warned his family and neighbours against informing the police about the incident. However, a case was registered when the news spread through the town. Locals said Poovarasan's brutal act was motivated by anger at his estranged wife.
The accused father is identified as N Poovarasan. On Thursday, he went to wake up his son, a class IV student, for school. Reluctantly, the minor boy dismissed him, reported The Times of India. This infuriated the accused, and he heated the knife to press it on his son's hands, body and thighs. The kid screamed in pain, grabbing the attention of his grandfather resting in the next room. When he came to check on the child, the grandfather, Natrajan, saw the accused torturing the child physically.
