Missing Report Filed, Body Recovered from Agra Canal Bank
Police said the case dates back to January 2022, when a woman from Bhupani village filed a missing person report for her 20-year-old niece. Based on the complaint, a case was registered.
During investigation, the missing woman’s remains were recovered on January 6, and the next day, Singh Raj, a resident of Jasana village in Faridabad, was arrested.
According to police, Raj confessed to killing the woman and disposing of her body.
Investigators said Raj admitted he had dumped the body on the banks of the Agra Canal. A charge sheet was filed on March 30, 2022, police added.
Police said Raj has confessed to five other murders, including three minors, in addition to the 2022 case.
Raj had worked as a security guard at a private hospital in Sector 16, Faridabad, and reportedly came under police suspicion during the investigation of another case.
Series of Alleged Killings from 2019 to 2021
Sharing details of earlier crimes, police claimed:- In 2019, Raj allegedly molested the daughter of a tea vendor and killed her when she resisted
- In August 2020, he allegedly killed a 12-year-old girl in the hospital after she resisted molestation
- In June 2021, he allegedly murdered another minor girl, employed as a cleaner in the hospital
Police also said he confessed to killing his uncle and cousin.
While the life sentence has been awarded in the 2022 kidnapping-murder case, police confirmed that other cases linked to Raj are still pending before the courts, keeping the spotlight firmly on one of Faridabad’s most disturbing crime trails in recent years.
