Ahmedabad, May 5 (PTI) The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) have signed a five-year memorandum of understanding to collaborate on digital
forensics, cybersecurity, and advanced technology research, an official said on Tuesday.
The collaboration will focus on six strategic pillars — academic and professional development, information security and system integrity, forensic infrastructure and lab excellence, technical support for cyber security activities, technical advisory services and research, and strategic placement and outreach, an official release stated.
"The MoU provides a comprehensive framework for collaboration and brings together the two key national institutions to further strengthen cyber resilience in UIDAI's digital infrastructure, which is the foundation of India's digital identity ecosystem," it said.
The MoU was signed by UIDAI CEO Vivek Chandra Verma and NFSU Gujarat campus director Dr S O Junare.
The MoU will facilitate joint research in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, deepfake detection and cryptographic technology, and pave the way for students of the Gandhinagar-based NFSU to access placements and opportunities, the release said.
"This collaboration is an important step towards further strengthening the security, resilience and forensic capabilities supporting India's digital public infrastructure and ensuring greater security measures for India's digital identity systems," Verma said on the occasion. PTI KA ARU
