Rain, Heatwave in Eastern UP

Lucknow, Apr 3 (PTI) Several Parts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh recorded rainfall, with mercury touching 35.9 degrees Celsius in Lucknow on Friday, the meteorological department said.

Prayagraj recorded a rainfall

of 5.6 mm, whereas Varanasi recorded 2.6 mm, followed by Ghazipur, 1.0 mm, Fursatganj, 0.1 mm, and in traces in Sultanpur, the MeT said.

Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 35.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 23.4 degrees Celsius, it said.

Sultanpur was the hottest place in the state, where mercury touched a high of 38.6 degrees Celsius, it said. PTI NAV SHS
