New Delhi, May 27 (PTI) Delhi spent Rs 16,696 crore on healthcare in 2022-23, with Government Health Expenditure (GHE) accounting for 29.6 per cent of the national capital’s General Government Expenditure (GGE)
during the financial year, according to an official report.
The latest National Health Accounts (NHA) Estimates report released by the Union Health Ministry said Delhi’s GHE as a percentage of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) stood at 1.7 per cent during 2022-23. Delhi’s GSDP for the year was estimated at Rs 9,99,749 crore, it said.
According to the report, Delhi’s per capita GHE stood at Rs 7,950 in 2022-23.
The report said GHE includes spending under schemes funded and managed by Union, state and local governments, including quasi-government organisations and donor funds routed through government organisations.
The National Health Accounts report tracks healthcare expenditure and flow of funds across the country under the System of Health Accounts 2011 framework. PTI SGV RHL
