New Delhi, Apr 1 (PTI) President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday extended greetings on Odisha Day and said that the state's talented and hardworking people are playing a significant role in the 'Viksit Bharat'
journey.
Odisha's invaluable contribution to India's freedom struggle and nation-building continues to inspire everyone, she said in a post on X.
Odisha Day or 'Utkala Dibasa' marks the formation of Odisha as a separate state on this day in 1936. Orissa was rechristened as Odisha in 2011.
"Warm greetings to the people of Odisha on Odisha Day! This occasion celebrates the state's rich cultural heritage, timeless traditions, and the resilience of its people. Its talented and hardworking people are playing a significant role in the journey of Viksit Bharat," the president said.
"I pray to Mahaprabhu Shree Jagannath for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Odisha," she added. PTI AKV
