Raisen (MP), Dec 9 (PTI) A 16-year-old student returning home from his school was killed after he was run over by a passenger train while crossing the railway tracks in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh,
police said on Tuesday.
The student, identified as Jayesh Lodhi, was returning home after taking an exam when he was hit by a Main Line Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) train on Monday evening in the Salamatpur police station area, a police officer said.
A passerby saw the student's body and informed the police.
Enraged by the incident, locals staged a protest demanding proper compensation for the family and the construction of a railway overbridge on this route connecting 20 nearby villages. PTI COR MAS NSK
