Chennai, Apr, 20 (PTI) BJP leader K Annamalai launched his poll campaign in Mylapore constituency here on Monday in support of the party candidate Tamilisai Soundararajan for the April 23 assembly elections.
Addressing an election rally, the former state BJP chief charged the DMK government with "failing" to deliver on key promises especially regarding Chennai's infrastructure, storm water drainage and waste management.
"The DMK had promised to construct two lakh houses for the state fishermen of which 200 would come up in Mylapore," he said adding still the project has not materialised.
Annamalai also alleged that the ganja sales had increased under the current regime.
Referring to Union Minister Amit Shah's roadshow in Mylapore on Sunday, he claimed that it received an enthusiastic response.
Annamalai expressed confidence that the "lotus" would bloom in the state, highlighting the candidate's rich experience and dedication to bringing development to the constituency.
Annamalai also asserted that AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami would become chief minister of Tamil Nadu following a resounding victory. PTI SNR SNR ROH
