Los Angeles, Apr 25 (PTI) Actor and comedian Ellen DeGeneres is returning to voice the much-loved character, blue tang fish Dory, in the new short of Pixar‘s "Finding Nemo" universe.

news outlet Deadline, the details about the plot, the cast and the release of the upcoming short are kept under wraps. The production is set to start.
The "Finding Nemo" franchise started with Pixar's first instalment in 2003, which revolved around Nemo, a clown fish with a foreshortened fin, who gets caught by a diver while swimming near the surface. Later, his father, Marlin and Dory set on the journey to find Nemo. What follows is a set of adventures for all the characters.
The film went on to earn over USD 900 million at the box office.
It turned into the highest-grossing animated film of all time during its run, and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
The second release, titled "Finding Dory", released in 2016. Both films had DeGeneres voice the character of Dory.
The project went on to gross USD 1 billion at the global box office, and emerged as the highest-grossing opening weekend for an animated film at the domestic box office.
DeGeneres is known for hosting The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which ended in 2022 after 19 seasons. She last appeared on screen in a 2024 Netflix stand-up comedy special, "Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval".
