Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC), West Zone, Mumbai, celebrated its 26th Annual Day on 19th December 2025 with great enthusiasm and grandeur. On the occasion, Shri Gaurav Jha,
Group General Manager, IRCTC West Zone, shared key insights into the significant achievements of the West Zone.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Jha stated that compared to the previous financial year, the current year has been marked by resilience, consistency, and strong performance for the West Zone. Despite operating in a challenging and dynamic environment, the Zone maintained its focus and delivered commendable results across all operational areas.
He highlighted that Mobile Catering, the largest revenue contributor of the West Zone, generated an impressive ₹360 crore in revenue during the year. The West Zone successfully operated catering services on 13 Vande Bharat trains, 12 Rajdhani–Shatabdi trains, 96 Mail/Express WCB trains, 83 end-to-end TSV trains, and 329 trains under the sectional TSV model.
Further strengthening its footprint, IRCTC West Zone successfully commenced operations on two new Vande Bharat Express trains—Nagpur–Secunderabad and Pune–Kolhapur.
One of the major achievements of the year was the smooth transition from short-term mobile tenders to a long-term cluster-based model. During the financial year, 34 clusters, comprising 119 trains and 163 kitchen units, were successfully operationalised.
Additionally, catering services were provided on Election Special and FTR trains, wherein approximately 7.56 lakh meals were served, resulting in revenue of around ₹14.20 crore, a significant milestone for the Zone.
On this occasion, Shri Gaurav Jha, Group General Manager, IRCTC West Zone, Mumbai, presented awards to outstanding employees. A total of 50 employees received individual awards, including 11 employees from the Bhopal Regional Office, 7 from the Ahmedabad Regional Office, and two employees each from Nagpur and Bhusawal. In addition, 6 Group Awards were also presented in recognition of exemplary team performance.
Shri Jha emphasized that these achievements are a result of the dedicated efforts, teamwork, and relentless hard work of the officers and employees of IRCTC West Zone.
