The Civil Defence Team of Hubballi Railway Workshop conducted an extensive mock drill on the theme “Golden Hour Concept in Disaster Management – Scenario: Sabotage (Bomb Blast)” to mark the 63rd Civil Defence Raising
Day. The exercise was organised on 06 December 2025 (Saturday) at the Carriage Repair Workshop, Hubballi, in coordination with the Safety Cell/Hubballi Workshop under the leadership of Ranjan Kumar Sahu, Senior Section Engineer & Chief Defence Inspector/UBLS.
The mock drill featured demonstrations of essential life-saving practices, including fire-fighting techniques, first aid procedures, and rescue operations. These sessions were delivered in a simple, practical manner to ensure that every participant could readily understand and apply the techniques during real-life emergencies. Workshop employees actively observed the exercise and gained valuable awareness and training from the demonstrations.
Vijay Singh Yadav, Chief Workshop Manager/UBLS, graced the event as the Chief Guest, while Kuldeep, DGM(G) & Controller of Civil Defence/SWR, attended as the Guest of Honour, along with officers of the Hubballi Workshop. The Chief Guest presented awards to the best performers of the drill and, in his address, stressed the importance of enhancing Civil Defence readiness. He commended the dedication and hard work of the Civil Defence team in organising such an impactful and meaningful preparedness activity.
The Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, and all attending officers expressed their appreciation to the Civil Defence Team of the Carriage Repair Workshop for executing a well-planned and effective disaster management mock drill.
In a notable recent achievement, during the 63rd Annual Day celebrations of Civil Defence & Home Guards organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs, three members of the SWR Civil Defence Unit Pagadala Panindranath, Sunny Dhawale, and Ranjan Kumar Sahu were honoured with the prestigious DG Disc and Commendation Certificate. This recognition reflects their outstanding commitment, exemplary service, and selfless contribution to Civil Defence.
