Indian Railways has launched the Amrit Bharat Express, introducing a new generation of trains that combine affordability with state-of-the-art modern facilities. Designed indigenously with a focus on passenger
comfort and convenience, these trains reflect the nation’s aspirations and commitment to progress. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the introduction of this new category of trains, emphasizing modern amenities at affordable costs for the common man. The Amrit Bharat Express trains embody this vision by offering both comfort and efficiency.
A total of 11 Amrit Bharat Express trains has been introduced across the Indian Railway network on different routes. Under the jurisdiction of N. F. The coaches are fitted with modern automatic doors, enhanced bio-vacuum toilets, mobile charging points, CCTV surveillance and automatic smoke/fire detection systems. To provide a better travel experience, LED lighting, improved seating arrangements, modular toilets and GPS-based passenger information systems have been incorporated. The trains use push-pull technology, with engines installed at both ends, significantly reducing journey time by avoiding long halts during locomotive reversals. Enhanced insulation and energy-efficient equipment also ensure lower noise levels and a more comfortable environment inside the coaches.
With a maximum speed capability of 130 kmph, the Amrit Bharat Express will cover journeys of approximately 1,000 kilometres efficiently for around Rs. 450/-, providing a safe, reliable and affordable option for passengers. These trains are expected to serve as a milestone in Indian Railways’ continuous efforts to modernize its services while making travel accessible to all sections of society.
