The Solapur Division of Central Railway organised a Nutritional Diet Exhibition under the nationwide Poshan Pakhwada campaign on 23rd April 2026 at the Dr Kotnis Memorial Divisional Railway Hospital, Solapur reinforcing
its commitment towards preventive healthcare and community well-being. Poshan Pakhwada is a flagship awareness initiative aimed at promoting better nutrition, healthy lifestyles and informed dietary practices among citizens. Through this exhibition, Solapur Division highlighted the importance of balanced nutrition as a key pillar of overall health and wellness.
Key Objectives of the Programme
The exhibition was organised with the following objectives:
To create awareness about the importance of nutrition and balanced diets
To educate people about essential nutrients and their role in maintaining health
To encourage healthy eating habits among children, women and families
To highlight health concerns such as malnutrition, anemia and obesity
To support the national goals of Poshan Abhiyaan
Major Highlights of the Exhibition
Visitors were provided practical and easy-to-understand guidance through various informative displays and sessions, including:
Balanced Diet Charts showcasing the role of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals
Local Nutritious Foods emphasising affordable and easily available healthy food options
Healthy Meal Models for children, pregnant women and adults
Awareness Posters on nutrition-related illnesses such as anemia, stunting and obesity
Interactive Guidance Sessions where experts addressed diet and health-related queries
The exhibition received an enthusiastic response from visitors, who gained valuable knowledge on improving daily food choices and adopting healthier lifestyles. The emphasis on affordable nutrition made the programme especially beneficial for families across different economic backgrounds.
Approximately 15 participants directly benefited from the programme and enhanced their awareness about nutritious and healthy food practices. The programme was efficiently coordinated by Gynecologist Dr Naga Keerthi along with the dedicated support of medical officers and paramedical staff of the division. Their collective efforts ensured the successful organisation of an informative and engaging awareness event. The programme was conducted with the guidance of the Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS), Solapur Division Dr. Manjunath G. S. and Additional Chief Medical Superintendent (ACMS), Solapur Division Dr. Krishna Chandak.
