Pradeep Kumar, General Manager (Looking After) of Western Railway, along with senior officials of Western Railway, conducted a press briefing on 1st February 2026 at Churchgate Railway Station in connection
with the ongoing public awareness campaign “Mera Ticket, Meri Shaan – Viksit Bharat ke Liye Mera Yogdan.” The interaction focused on reinforcing the importance of ethical ticketing practices and responsible rail travel among passengers.
According to a press release issued by the Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, during the briefing, Pradeep Kumar appealed to the general public to purchase valid tickets and travel in trains responsibly, emphasizing that every ticket purchased directly contributes to the development of railway infrastructure, improvement of passenger amenities and enhancement of safety systems. He highlighted that ticket revenue plays a crucial role in sustaining railway operations and supporting ongoing capacity augmentation and service improvement initiatives.
Elaborating further, GM Pradeep Kumar stated that ethical ticketing and voluntary compliance are essential for ensuring financial sustainability of the Railways and for fostering a culture of civic responsibility among citizens. He underlined that responsible travel behavior by passengers directly supports Indian Railways' efforts towards modernization and aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat, wherein every citizen contributes meaningfully to nation-building.
Western Railway reiterated its commitment to sustained passenger engagement through awareness and outreach initiatives and urged all commuters to actively support the campaign by traveling with valid tickets and encouraging others to do the same. Through collective responsibility, discipline and cooperation, Western Railway aims to further strengthen passenger trust, operational efficiency and service excellence, thereby contributing to the larger goal of Viksit Bharat.
