Lucknow: To curb the changing patterns of cybercrime, Yogi government has taken a major step. More than 500 cyber forensic warriors are being trained at the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science
in Lucknow. In the future, they will play an important role in combating cross-border hacking, AI-generated phishing, deepfakes, and emerging digital threats.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, special initiatives are being undertaken to strengthen cybersecurity. During the “Meet My Mentor” program organized as part of this effort, experts in cybersecurity and quantum technology stated that cybercrime will become even more complex in the coming years, but Uttar Pradesh’s initiative will prove decisive in controlling it.
The chief guest of the program and member of the National Quantum Mission, Dr. Ajay Singh, praised the institute and said it is rapidly moving toward becoming a world-class institution and will be highly effective in addressing new cyber threats.
He said, “Cyber threats are no longer limited to emails or SMS. Now crimes are being committed on a large scale through voice cloning, deepfake videos, and fake video calls. Through the UP State Institute of Forensic Science, dealing with such threats will become easier.”
Dr. Ajay Singh warned that new kinds of malware are emerging that can learn on their own and evolve automatically to bypass security systems. Referring to the limitations of cloud computing, he said that attacks on data can affect multiple organizations simultaneously. In such situations, the role of forensic experts becomes even more crucial.
The founding director of the institute, Dr. G. K. Goswami said, “Technologies like Quantum Computing will soon become an important part of everyday life, and this is the right time to prepare young people for it.”

He encouraged students to move forward by integrating legal, forensic, and technical knowledge. He added that the institute is being developed as a one-stop center, where solutions related to cutting-edge subjects such as quantum computing will also be available. Today’s preparation, he said, will determine tomorrow’s leadership.
Dr. Goswami further said, “The way complex subjects are explained makes them easier to understand, and that is the institute’s objective. The institute is preparing its students to compete at the global level.”
