In a major boost to regional rail and road infrastructure, V. Somanna, Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for a Road Over Bridge (ROB) in lieu of Level
Crossing No. 77 at Hitnal, located between the Ginigera–Munirabad section. The project, estimated to cost ₹26.97 crore, will be fully funded by the Railways. The foundation stone–laying ceremony was attended by Shivaraj S. Tangadagi, Minister for Kannada and Culture and Backward Classes Welfare Department and District In-charge Minister of Koppal; K. Rajashekar B. Hitnal, Member of Parliament, Koppal; K. Raghavendra B. Hitnal, Member of the Legislative Assembly, Koppal; Shashil G. Namoshi, Member of the Legislative Council; Smt. Hemalatha Nayak, Member of the Legislative Council; and Dr. Suresh B. Itnal, Deputy Commissioner, Koppal. T. V. Bhushan, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Hubballi Division, along with senior railway officials, was also present at the event.
